أدى الجمع بين الاستثمار في التعليم وتطوير بيئة الأعمال المواتية إلى فترة من النمو الاقتصادي السريع في أيرلندا ، والمعروفة باسم "النمر السلتي". شهدت هذه الفترة توسعًا سريعًا في اقتصاد البلاد ، مع ارتفاع مستويات خلق فرص العمل ، وزيادة الدخل ، وتحسن شامل في مستويات المعيشة. على الرغم من بعض التحديات والتقلبات الاقتصادية في أواخر التسعينيات وأوائل القرن الحادي والعشرين ، لا يزال إرث هذه الفترة من الاستثمار في التعليم والمهارات يلعب دورًا مهمًا في تشكيل الاقتصاد الأيرلندي اليوم.
